Photo Contests Results

Thank you for everyone who participated in the SeaWolves Photo Contest. Special thanks to Jessica and Angela, for judging the photographs and giving their time to making the contest work. By judging these members weren't able to participate.

The four categories of pictures were; Sea Life, Humourous or Odd, Diver(s) in Action, and Wreck. We Recieved 31 photos from 8 members. Of these 31 photos; 18 were Sea Life, 3 Humourous or Odd, 3 Divers in Action, and 4 Wrecks. Participants may pick up their prizes at the Treasure Hunt or at TorpedoRays after 6 pm on Monday.

The Prizes were as follows:

  • 1st Place in a category is $80.00 GC
  • 2nd Place in a category is $50.00 GC
  • 3rd Place in a category is $20.00 GC
  • Best Picture over all ..... Photo Printer.

* Photo Contest Rules

1) The contest is open to all payed club members (with the exception of the 3 judges), and costs $5.00 to participate. You must have actually taken the picture, and can not submit the work of others. Photos must have been taken within the last two years, and must be unedited or manipulated.

2) There will be prizes for the top three photos in each of four categories, and a best over all award. Prizes are are Torpedo Rays Gift Certificates.

  • 1st Place in a category is $80.00 GC
  • 2nd Place in a category is $50.00 GC
  • 3rd Place in a category is $20.00 GC
  • Best Picture over all .....a Surprise.

3) Each member can only win a total of three times maximum (not including grand prize).

4) The 4 categories are:

  • Sea Life
  • Humourous or Odd - Shore or in water
  • Diver(s) in Action - Shore or in water
  • Wreck

5) Each Member may submit up to five photos. Photographs must be dropped of at the Shop with your full name and phone number clearly marked on the back of each picture, and a digital copy of each photo must be emailed to seawolvesdiving@hotmail.com in JPG or BMP format. When emailing a copy of the picture, once again let us now your full name, and contact phone number, and any information relevant to the picture.(ie where it was taken, who or what the subject matter is).

6) Photos must be submitted by September 4, and winners will be announced at the September Treasure Hunt Dive. If you can’t attend the Treasure Hunt, winners will be announced on the Website a day later, and you can drop by the shop to pick up your prize after that.

How will the Photos Be Judged?
- Three club members (judges) will review submissions, and choose the best four pictures in each category. Jason (the owner of Torpedo Rays), will then get to see the photographs (but not the names of the photographers), and will choose a 1st place, 2nd, and 3rd place winner for each catagory, and the best over all award winner .

- By submitting photos, you are giving the club, permission to use your photos (for the website, and brochures, etc).
